In maths this week I have learned how to find perimeter. All that you have to do is add all the side measurements together. Sometimes it can get harder but and you have to find out one of the sides, but all that you have to do is look at the opposite side and add all the numbers on that side together E.G if the left side numbers were both 4 then with the line going straight down the right side would be 4+4 which equals 8 so the right side would be 8. I have also learned about pi and what it means. Pi is just the circumference divided by the diameter. I have learned that to find the circumference by using the diameter then all you have to do is multiply the diameter by pi. If it only gives you the radius then you do the same except multiply the final answer by 2.
In English this week I am learning about different types of sentences. The three different ones are called simple sentences, compound sentences and a complex sentences. A simple sentence is a sentence that is a single thought that makes sense on its own. They also have to have a subject, verb and an object E.G Frank burned the toast. the subject would be frank, the verb would be burned, and the object would be toast. A compound sentence is a sentence that has two or more thoughts in the single sentence E.G I have a dog and he is brown. the reason that this is a compound sentence is because it could make sense like this: I have a dog. He is brown. A complex sentence is a sentence with two or more thoughts but it has a sentence that can stand alone and a sentence that relies on the other sentence and these a connected in one sentence E.G she could paint amazing picture although she was only six, although she was only six doesn’t make sense just on its own.
